In an article on Page 1 of yesterday's Wildcat ("Directors OK'd, but law may have been broken"), information was unclear regarding whether or not the Undergraduate Senate had violated the Arizona Open Meetings Law.

Legally, the Undergraduate Senate is not required to comply with the law, because the Senate is not considered a "public body" as defined by Arizona statute. However, the Associated Students bylaws state, "All Legislative Body meetings must conform to the Arizona Open Meeting Laws." This is what created the alleged violation when an executive session was called by the Senate Wednesday.
