The UA women's soccer team suffered its fifth consecutive loss last night to San Francisco 2-0 in its home opener.

Arizona head coach Lisa Fraser was disappointed with the team's offense, which managed just nine shots on goal, compared to the Dons' 24.

"We've just got to get some production out of our forwards," Fraser said.

Fraser said Arizona (0-5 overall, 0-1 in the Pacific 10 Conference) made costly mistakes that resulted in goals for the Dons (4-1).

Senior forward Christine Keeley, who leads the Wildcats with two goals this season, said the team was not prepared offensively.

"We've been focusing on our defense because we've been falling apart in the back," Keeley said. "Unfortunately, because you have to work on those things, offense has been put on the backburner in the past week or so."

Arizona senior goalkeeper Jen Weibel had eight saves during the game. San Francisco got two saves from sophomore goal keeper Sandy Draghi.

The Wildcats did a successful job of keeping last night's crowd, the first to see them play in the new stadium, excited throughout the game.

Weibel made a series of diving saves off of powerful shot attempts during the second half, including a strong block from a blistering cross shot from the left side with just under six minutes remaining in the game.

"Today in a game that we could have come out and been 2-2 or 3-2 in the first half," Keeley said, "it showed that we just didn't connect up front."
