Early birds in Flagstaff didn't need a radar gun to see a brilliant display created by the Hera Target Missile launched by the White Sands Missile Range in south central New Mexico about 5:10 a.m. Wednesday. The missile was fired to test a missile-detecting radar system, said Debbie Bingham, White Sands Missile Range public affairs officer. Bingham said the early-morning light made conditions just right to see the missile's trail for hundreds of miles.
