David H. Benton writes: "Well, the first debate of the last presidential campaign of the 20th century has come and gone ("The debates: a stage show for Republicans and Democrats, Oct. 8).
This is incorrect. There will be another presidential campaign in 2000 and probably 2 or more debates. You see, the 21st century starts January 1, 2001. A common mistake - hell, even Clinton makes this mistake constantly by saying he is going to carry us into the 21st century, when in fact his term will end before the 21st century. This is of course if he gets elected for a second term. Like that won't happen. A little trivia for the kids...
