- The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free workshop on how to Create Web Pages: Beyond the Basics in the Science and Engineering Library Room 311 from noon until 2 p.m.
The workshop includes learning how to use colors and tables on individual home pages, as well learning how to use forms, image maps, cgi scripts and the effect of Netscape extensions on users.
- The University of Arizona Poetry Center, 1216 N. Cherry Ave., presents Chip Rawlins from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Rawlins, a hydrologist and mountaineer, will discuss his new book Broken Country a memoir based on his experiences and reflections while herding sheep.
- Career Services offers a free workshop on interviewing skills in Memorial Student Union Room 285 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
- The Media Arts Department with the UA Committee of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Studies presents She's Real-Worse than Queer in the Modern Languages Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
The video kicks off the Lesbian Looks Film and Video Series 1996-97 season. Lucy Thane, the video's creator, will be on hand for the presention.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre shows "Courage Under Fire" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
The average annual residence hall rate has increased 137 percent over the last 10 years. During the 1985-86 school year, the average rate for residence halls was $958. Last year, the average rate was $2,260.
