DISTRICT 1

Mike Boyd

Republican

incumbent

Boyd received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles. He is currently the supervisor for District 1, and was formerly a television reporter. His political experience is in his three years as supervisor and his four years as county recorder. If re-elected, Boyd's top goal is to reduce juvenile crime and for the supervisors and the Tucson City Council to meet and make plans together on such issues as water and transportation.

Wayne Bryant

Democrat

Received associate's degree from Pima Community College. Bryant is a native of Tucson. He is involved in the Oro Valley Neighborhood Coalition, the Mesa Verde Elementary School Council, Open Space and Trails Bond Committee-Oro Valley and the Neighborhood Coalition of Greater Tucson. He is also a volunteer coach at the YMCA and a Pusch Ridge Swim Team board member. Bryant supports managed growth in the county, including providing safe, clean water.

DISTRICT 2

Ray Clark

Republican

Clark received an associate's degree from Pima Community College. His political experience comes through his two attempts for government positions. In 1991, he lost the race in Tucson City Council Ward 4 and in 1992 he lost the race for state House District 9.

He is currently the owner of L&C Construction Co.

If elected, Clark would focus on crime prevention and being available to constituents.

Dan "Danny" Eckstrom

Democrat

incumbent

Eckstrom received a bachelor's degree in government from the UA. His political experience comes through his eight years as supervisor for District 2 and his term as mayor of South Tucson from 1973-1988.

If re-elected, Eckstrom's top priority would be crime prevention and making the county departments more efficient for the public.

DISTRICT 3

Sharon Bronson

Democrat

Received bachelor's degree in accounting from the UA. Bronson is a businesswoman who has lived in Pima County for 30 years. She says she will make law enforcement and prevention programs her highest budget priority, and she supports an accessible and comprehensive community health care system. She also supports changing property tax laws to eliminate the agricultural exemption for developers. She wants to cut the county lobbyist budget in half and use the funds to hire more deputies.

Vicki Cox Golder

Republican

Studied real estate. She is a real estate broker and a small business owner who has lived in Pima County for 24 years.

Golder's experience includes being appointed as a delegate to the White House Conference on Small Businesses in 1995 and elected twice to the Amphitheater School Board.

Her key issues include reducing juvenile crime and restraining growth.

Ed Moore

Independent

incumbent

Moore attended Colgate University, N.Y. His political experience comes through his 12 years as supervisor for District 3.

If re-elected, Moore would try to ensure the county pure water and fight juvenile crime.

DISTRICT 4

Ted Louis Glenn

Libertarian

Received a bachelor's degree in Judaic studies and bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from the UA.

He worked on the petition to repeal all property taxes in Arizona.

If elected, he says he will attempt, at the very least, to reduce the county property tax levy to compensate for any increase in assessed valuations and work to eliminate the county levy completely.

His spending priorities for crime prevention would be on funding law enforcement activities and on creating courts with fully-informed juries.

Craig Runyon

Democrat

Runyon received a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in counseling from Radford University.

His political experience includes losing the 1992 races for the District 3 supervisor's seat and the District 12 state House seat.

If elected, Runyon would try to increase the number of community services.

John Even

Republican

Even received his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and his law degree from Indiana University. He is currently a property investor and retired attorney.

His political experience includes being a curent member of the Pima Community College Board since 1989 and serving as Pima Community Colleges board's chairman.

If elected, Even would work to restore the county government's leadership and trust.

DISTRICT 5

Raul Grijalva

Democrat
