- Gallagher Theatre opens "Fargo," a "homespun murder story" written and directed by Joel and Ethan Cohen, who also directed "Raising Arizona" and "Hudsucker Proxy." The film runs through Sunday, at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
- Also showing at Gallagher Theatre is "Tommy Boy," a comedy starring Chris Farley and David Spade. The movie runs tonight and tomorrow at midnight. Admission is $2.50.
- A Hillel Open House and Barbecue will be held tonight from 5:30 to 7. Jonathan Kaplan, program director for Hillel, said the organization is geared primarily toward helping students get involved with Judaism. Members of various Hillel groups will be at the open house to provide information. Activities within Hillel include Hillel Hikers, social action projects, and a Shabbat service every other Friday. The event is open to all interested students. Hillel is located at 1245 E. 2nd St.
