- The Library offers "Internet: Beyond the Basics," a free workshop in the Science and Engineering Library Room 311 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The workshop will cover the features of Netscape Navigator software including advanced searching techniques, file transfer protocol and bookmarks. The workshop is designed for those who have attended the Introduction of the Internet workshop.
- In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday Sankofa, the UA's African American faculty-staff association, with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee are hosting "Building a Healthy Community," from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Campus Health Center. Ethnic soups and breads will be available while speakers discuss community health issues.
Also, there is a "Song and Celebration" performance by various groups of gospel singers in the Social Sciences Auditorium at 7 p.m. Deltsa T. Productions is presenting a dramatic interpretation of selected MLK writings.
- The American Red Cross is sponsoring a blood drive on the UA Mall from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "That Thing You Do" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
