How much did you spend on your Books?

It's book buying time once again and for some students it might be time to crack open the old penny bank.

The average UA student spends between $150 to $200 each semester on textbooks, said Steve Dubey textbook manager at the UA Associated Students Bookstore.

The Daily Wildcat spoke with students yesterday as they left the bookstore cash registers with bags full of books.

Most students agreed that textbooks were too expensive.

Students also questioned why textbooks are used for only one semester while a new edition is required the very next semester.

In a random survey of 30 students the average expenditure for textbooks was $194.53.
