Undergraduate Senate met Wednesday at 6 p.m., Memorial Student Union Catalina Room
Senators present: Senate President Gilbert Davidson, Ryan Anderson, Casey Cuny, David Kramer, Kim Montanaro, Lauren Sliger, Maile Weigele

Items discussed:
- The Senate took an official stance on the condition of the Memorial Student Union, stating that the university needs to make the Union a top priority in terms of renovations and reconstruction.
- Under the guidance of Cuny, w ho is on the Committee of Internal Affairs, there will be a competition between the Pacific 10 Conference schools to register the most voters on campus for the upcoming presidential election.
ASUA is also organizing a polling site at Gallagher Theatre in the Memorial Student Union.
ASUA is working on organizing debate screenings, where students will have the opportunity to discuss the presidential debates after viewing them as a group.
- Montanaro, of the Projects Coordinating Committee, is organ izing the publishing of teacher evaluations. The Senate will further discuss plans of how to effectively publish the evaluations.
- Weigele talked about funding for the ASUA/University Learning Center basketball league. Weigele said she would like $5, 000 budgeted for the program this year. The budget for the program last year was $2,000. Davidson, however, said he was concerned about increasing funding for the program.
- Davidson and other ASUA officers are planning to attend a retreat held by the Association of College Unions.
- Concerns regarding the ASUA/Graduate and Professional Student Council split were voiced, including the need to write a new constitution that will not include GPSC. A temporary constitution has been written; however, And erson said he was concerned because no one has actually voted on the temporary constitution.
A constitutional convention may be formed so that students and senators can approve a new document.
The next meeting will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union Catalina Room.
