In memory of Anton Bakker

To the Editor:

We are writing this in honor of our dear, great friend, Anton Bakker. The fact is that life is like the river: endlessly moving on, ever seeking, exploring, pushing, overflowing its banks, penetrating every crevice with its water. Anton's life was the largest of rivers, pushing him to always live to the fullest. Leading the team to victory with a last-second shot, Anton always inspired and always persevered. A quiet leader, Anton let his actions speak louder than his words with an open ear and a bright smile. A free spirit at heart, he skateboarded down the mountain under a full moon, adventured in the outdoors and shared endless sunsets. Anton was a friend to everyone. Not only was he a beloved son, a caring brother and a devoted family member, but a loyal friend who put others before himself.

Words can never express what Anton means to us and the hole in our collective heart, left by his passing, can never truly be filled. As the river flows endlessly with life, so does our memory of Anton.

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." - Psalms 15:13
