Sidelines

Anyone who desires to play golf with someone from the UA men's basketball team can do so for a small price.

On April 15, the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association will put on the Lute Olson Celebrity Auction, which benefits the Arizona Arthritis Center. Both a silent auction and live auction as well as a buffet dinner will take place starting at 5:30 p.m.

Anyone in attendance can attempt to buy any of the various Wildcat memorabilia, vacation trips and a four-day package to Canyon Ranch.

However the live auction is where Olson and several of the Wildcat players will be present as auction items for a golf tournament that takes place April 17 starting at 7:30 a.m.

Those lucky enough to be signed up for the early morning tee-off have the opportunity to bid on any one of the former national champions. The Wildcats will go to the highest bidder to play in a group of four.

Even if you missed out on the registration for the golf tournament, which will take place at the El Conquistador, the auction still welcomes anyone to come and attend at the Marriott University Park. The cost is $25 per person and all proceeds go to the Arizona Arthritis Center.

Briefly

The Arizona football team will wrap up spring practice with a controlled game-action scrimmage Saturday in Arizona Stadium. The team will stretch and run drills starting at 7 p.m., and then begin the scrimmage at 7:30. The contest is free and open to the public.

The Arizona women's club volleyball team will be hosting a fundraising car wash Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The car wash will be held at the Circle K on the northwest corner of Speedway Boulevard and Park Avenue. Donations are welcome and encouraged.

By the Numbers

11:

Number of spots the UA baseball team has fallen in one week according to Baseball America. The poll had the Wildcats at No. 13 last week. This week, however, the Wildcats sit at No. 24 as they head into tonight's game against Arizona State.

The team has lost eight games in a row. The last time Arizona won a game was against UCLA March 15.
