Today on Campus

  • Do you hear what I hear? It's the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra performance at 8 tonight. The School of Music and Dance brings this event to the UA community in Crowder Hall of the Fine Arts Complex. Tickets can be purchased for $3, $5 or $6.

  • Should you choose to accept this mission you will explore "Investigations of Oxo-Molybdenum Centers with Three Sulfur Donors Atoms." If you've got what it takes to handle this seminar, join UA graduate student Michelle Mader at 4 p.m. in Room 216 of the Chemistry and Biology Sciences building.

  • Do you cringe at the sight of a guy dressed as a girl or two girls holding hands? Maybe it's time for you to open your mind at the Diversity Development Program Brown Bag Lunch. Kathryn Adams Riester, of the UA Safe Zone Program, will present "Homophobia and Heterosexism," addressing one of the most challenging and controversial diversity issues confronting our campus: sexual orientation. Learn how to become an ally to gays, lesbians and bisexuals from noon to 1 today in the University Services Building, Room 214.

  • Join in on "A Plea for LIBERTY . . ." from 2 to 3 this afternoon. Constancio Pinto, of the East Timor ActionNetwork and author of "East Timor's Unfinished Struggle: Inside the East Timorese Resistance," will join us in Room 219 of the Anthropology building in efforts to raise awareness of the injustice experienced by the people of East Timor. This event is presented by the Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology.

  • Travel to "Jupiter's Atmosphere: The Post-Galileo View" with Andrew Ingersoll of CalTech. The shuttle takes off at 3:30 p.m. today in the lecture hall, Room 308, of the Space Sciences building.

  • Rodolfo Guillermo Pachecogomez will discuss the "Effect of Climate Change in Hydropower Generation." Will El Niño have an affect? Find out at 2 this afternoon in the Civil Engineering building, Room 106.
