By Joe Sinkwitz Tuition increase too severeTo the Editor: I'm beginning to seriously doubt as to whether President Likins, or any of the Board of Regents knows the severity of a tuition increase, and how it will affect some of the students. I may only be a junior on this campus, but I know a faulty administration when I see one. There is not one aspect on this campus that is free of the university's red-tape. Should many of these unnecessary and overly redundant "checks and measures" be eliminated he would see that monetary problems are quite a thing of the past. Say he decided anyhow, after all presented, to raise tuition. Giving more options of financial aid is NOT the answer. President Likins, do you know what its like, trying to pay for college all on your own, and you look at the university's bills, noticing that you are paying for someone else's education? I doubt you do, and yes, I did apply for financial aid...not granted, middle class to the end. Look into the demographics of this university, and you will find that many students, like myself are desperately attempting to pull themselves along to pay the ludicrous university fees. Look, and ask yourself if you on a good conscious can approve a tuition that will no doubt place in financial jeopardy many returning students. What ever happened to a public education, or is this just another big business, greedily grabbing more wealth from the very people it should be trying to help? Joe Sinkwitz
