Today on Campus
- Check out Robert Wick's "Campus Outdoor Sculptures"
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week at the UA Museum of Art, at the corner
of East Speedway Boulevard and North Park Avenue.
- "SURFACETension" opens today at the Joseph Gross Gallery
in the Art building. An installation by Phoenix artist Laurie Lundquist.
The exhibit is a kinetic installation for the express purpose of observing
some of the physical and visual properties of water. Lundquist is a public
artist and educator whose work mediates between environmental issues and
constructivist sculptural concerns. Check it out from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mondays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
- Professor Michael Scott of the College of Medicine presents "Dual
Diagnosis: Mental Illnes and Chemical Dependency" today at 11:30
a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4831 E. 22nd St. At this, the
18th in a series of lectures presented by the Department of Psychiatry,
coffee, iced tea and cookies provided. Bring your own lunch.
- The campus community is invited to attend a 3 p.m. Student Union Club
reception for Jerry Lucido in honor of his new position as vice
chancellor and director of admissions at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. Refreshments will be served.
- Tom Halsey of Exxon Research presents "Dipoles and Droplets:
The Physics of Electrorheology" today at 4 p.m. in the Physics
and Atmospheric Sciences building, Room 201. Refreshments will be served.
