  • Up for a little surfing? Well, check the waves first at "Localization of Light and Other Classical Waves." Abel Klein of the University of California in Irvine will present this seminar at 4 p.m. in Room 501 of the Math building.

  • If you're bilingual you don't want to miss this colloquium. Thomas Bever of UA's Linguistics Department will present "The Relation Between Semantics, Syntax, and Language Behavior: Comprehending Different Classes of Verbs in Spanish and English" from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Room 355 of the Education building.

  • Learn about Negativland - the band that has made music by appropriating and rearranging "found" sounds, particularly from mass media sources. Mark Hosler, founding member of Negativland, will present "From Love Canal to Generation X: The History of Negativland" from 3 to 5 p.m. in Room 102 of the Center for English as a Second Language.
