Staff Reports SidelinesErin Aldrich, a member of Arizona's volleyball and track teams, left the school over the holiday break to transfer to the University of Texas. The Dallas native will reunite with former UA jump coach John Rembao in Austin, Texas. The All-American high jumper said she saw the move as her best chance to reach the 2000 Olympics. Last summer, she finished third at the USA Track and Field National Championships. Aldrich, an All-Pacific-10 Conference selection who helped lead the Wildcat volleyball team to a 20-7 mark and best-ever 12-6 conference record, will also compete on the Longhorns' volleyball team. Senior Vicky Maes was unable to begin her 1998 tennis campaign with a championship. Although she reached the quarterfinals of the National Collegiate Tennis Championships by defeating Stanford's Julie Scott, 7-6 (9), 1-6, 6-3, Sunday, rain kept her and the rest of the participants from continuing. The event, which was held at Sherwood Country Club in Sherman Oaks, Calif., was canceled due to the soggy conditions. It will not be rescheduled. Senior Betsy Miringoff, junior Monique Allegre and freshman Joanna Suczkowska
also competed in singles play. Maes was, however, the only Wildcat who won
her first round match. BrieflyMcKale Center already plays host to 1997's top men's college basketball team. Friday night one of the best known squads in the country will be on the floor.
