Icecats snap losing streak

The Arizona Icecats won their first road game of the season on Friday, crushing Towson State 8-3.

The victory ended a four-game winless streak.

Results from Saturday's game at Delaware were not available.

The Icecats outshot the Tigers 38-16, as they improved to 10-10-1. No. 10 Arizona needs to finish in the top eight to make it to the national tournament.

Bids for the tournament will be announced this week.

Towson fell to 16-7-1.

Icecat sophomore goalie Mike Tesi had 13 saves.

Arizona gets a week off before traveling to play Colorado. The Icecats beat the Buffaloes twice earlier this season, 13-7 and 6-2, in Tucson.

The Icecats' final home games are Feb. 20 and 21 against Arizona State. Arizona has lost four in a row to the Ice Devils.
