Men to start 10-match homestand against Utah

Racketeers on the men's tennis team will click their Nikes together today and hope there's no place like the Robson Tennis Center.

No. 61 Arizona (0-2) battles No. 65 Utah (4-0) this afternoon at 1:30 in the first of 10 consecutive home matches.

"I think it's really important to play at home because we need to settle down with our game," sophomore Jean-Noel Lacoste said. "I think we are a better home team because we are a serve and volley team and our courts favor that kind of game."

The Utes posted a perfect record in the month of January by blasting past Northern Arizona, Weber State, Utah State and Montana State.

Utah senior Paul McPherson, who possesses the No. 20 singles ranking in the seventh region, hopes to ring up Roland Kupka in the number one singles slot.

"Roland had an impressive weekend (in UA losses last month) against UCLA and USC and was very close in both of his singles matches," Helmig said. "We are very comfortable with him at number one."

Last season, the Wildcats defeated the Utes, 5-2.
