CHRIS JACKSON
My grandmother would probably be upset if I didn't give her alma mater some props here. Plus, the Orangemen are at home, so I'll give them the nod over the Peyton-less Vols.
Syracuse 34,
Tennessee 28
Katzenmoyer's eligible. Big surprise there. I don't really care who wins, but logic dictates that the boys of WVU will perform in their classic big-game fashion, with a big-time choke.
Ohio State 21,
West Virginia 10
The Irish are a shadow of their former selves. Bet NBC loves that exclusive TV deal now, huh? No Woodson, no Griese, but no problem for the defending champs.
Michigan 42,
Notre Dame 24

The Rams were a good team last year and are even better this year. The Buffaloes have fallen far from grace and I'm not betting against CSU two weeks in a row. So here's one for my friend Sean up in Ft. Collins.
Colorado State 35,
Colorado 28

MIKE JENKINS
Donovan McNabb is still Syracuse's QB and he is unpredictable, but Tennessee wins this one do to their strong running game.
Tennessee 27,
Syracuse 20
People in West Virginia are billing this the game of the decade, some even say the century. With Mensa members LB Andy Katzenmoyer and S Damon Moore probably out of the lineup, I'm riding West Virginia and RB Amos Zereoue to the promised land.
West Virginia 24,
Ohio State 21
Tough game to pick. Michigan is the better team, but winning in South Bend is extremely tough. It's going to come down to the kicking game and Michigan wins by one, only after a Notre Dame field goal attempt sails wide in the final seconds.
Michigan 24,
Notre Dame 23
What a Pac-10 season opener. Washington QB Brock Huard is a quality quarterback, but he will not be enough. After ASU QB Ryan Kealy is replaced for being ineffective, backup QB Steve Campbell throws the winning TD pass to WR Tariq McDonald with less than a minute left.
Arizona State 35,
Washington 28
Colorado St. was very impressive in beating Michigan St. last week, in East Lansing. Colorado used to be in the top 10 all of the time. What happened? Where's Darian Hagan and Eric Bienemy when you need them? The Rams in a Mile-High blowout.
Colorado St. 38,
Colorado 14

BRYAN ROSENBAUM
The new era begins in Knoxville, sans Manning. My bet is they'll do better without him. Syracuse always finds a way to lose early, and this year is no different.

J.R. Redmond should stop talking Heisman and worry about offense. Brock Huard, on the other hand, is the real deal. The Dawgs in a spoiler.
Washington 38,
Arizona State 31
This one was moved to Denver for more exposure. Yeah, for everyone to notice Colorado State.
Colorado State 31,
Colorado 20

SETH DORIA
Both defenses will have a hard time stopping the opposing offenses so expect big days from SU quarterback Donovan McNabb and UT running back Jamal Lewis. Syracuse gets the nod thanks to special teams featuring the Big East Special Teams Player of the Year Quinton Spotwood, who had four punt returns for touchdowns last season.
Syracuse 38,
Tennessee 34
For once, Ohio State will choke in the beginning of the year instead of waiting until the end. The Buckeyes are way too cocky and West Virginia is way too good at home. No. 1 goes down early in a surprisingly ugly game.
West Virginia 27,
Ohio State 17
Tailback Autry Denson returns and Jarius Jackson finally gets to take over for Ron Powlus. An increased reliance on the option back offense should help the Irish grind out yards against what is still one of the best defenses in the country. UM QB Tom Brady has never started a game in his career.
Notre Dame 24,
Michigan 13
UW has lost the last two times they've visited Tempe and I don't see any reason that should change now. It's time to see if Ryan Kealy and J.R. Redmond are for real.
Arizona State 31,
Washington 28
Colorado State looked mighty fine in the second half against Michigan State, and there's no way they'll let down against the Buffs. The Rams will extend their winning streak to 10.
Colorado State 36,
Colorado 21
