To the editor,

Dan Cassino was right, a lot of people will be offended by his article, but hopefully for the right reason. I don't expect world class journalism from a college paper, but I am consistently dismayed at the lack of substance and logic in commentaries such as his.

Is he against multiculturalism or affirmative action? While the two are related undoubtedly, they are not interchangeable. Unsupported propositions abound, and the few examples used to somehow prove some of these claims are fictitious scenarios. I could just as easily imagine a classroom filled with all cultures in which they decide to gang up on the meathead who doesn't "get anything" out of their presence. Or perhaps, in my imagination, there is a workplace, and again the same meathead, except this time he is fired for not being able to deal with people as individuals. If only I could depend on my imagination to support all of my opinions.

It does not surprise me that someone like Dan Cassino does not see what multiculturalism is doing for him. It does sadden me though, that he considers himself in any way educated, and that he will undoubtedly graduate and have such a fantasy confirmed by the state of Arizona. As we can see by his commentary, the last thing he needs is a stronger imagination.
