The No. 2-ranked Arizona softball team (13-1) hosts the Wildcat Classic tournament this weekend, starting today at 2 p.m. against Tennessee.

The Wildcats are coming off a victory at the Texas Invitational Tournament over the host Longhorns, 5-0 last Sunday. Arizona did lose its first game of the year earlier in the tournament to Texas, but rebounded to sweep Texas-San Antonio and defeat Alabama en route to winning the championship.

Left fielder Lauren Bauer rebounded from a shoulder injury to lead all UA players with six hits in the tournament as the designated hitter. She and third baseman Toni Mascarenas (wrist) are both recovering from injuries and are looking to get healthy this weekend.

The competition doesn't get much easier after the Volunteers, though, with No. 6 South Florida awaiting UA today at 4 p.m., followed by No. 17 Hawaii tomorrow at noon.

The round-robin format will be followed by semi-final games tomorrow at 2 and 4 p.m.

The championship game is Sunday at 1 p.m.- staff reports
