Senior Maureen Kealey vaults during a dual meet against Stanford at McKale Center Feb. 26. The UA gymnastics team will face Arizona State tonight at McKale at 7:30.

The UA gymnastics team returns home from the Pacific 10 Conference Championships to take on in-state rival Arizona State. The Wildcats (10-8-1 overall, 5-5-1 Pac-10) conclude their regular season against their nemesis at McKale Center tonight at 7:30.

Although Arizona never needs any extra motivation when facing ASU, head coach Bill Ryden does bring a special element to this particular game. Ryden spent his collegiate career as a Sun Devil gymnast.

However, Ryden said he is not preparing for this meet any differently despite his ASU history.

"I know their program, I know their coaches," he said. "But there is no additional motivation."

But, some Arizona gymnasts are still struggling with injuries.

"There are some health concerns," Ryden said. "I am hopeful we will put out the same lineup as last week."

Injuries aside, the Wildcats hope to end the season on a high note.

"The team is competing very well," he said. "(This meet) helps set us up for the regionals."
