UA faces bay area schools
The Arizona men's tennis team hosts Stanford this afternoon at 1:30 and California tomorrow at noon, with both matches at Robson Tennis Center.
The UA men (5-7 overall, 0-5 Pacific 10 Conference) are currently tied with North Carolina and Dartmouth for No. 75 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
Stanford is currently ranked No. 4, with a season record of 8-1 overall and 1-2 in the Pac-10. The Cardinal is led by Ryan Wolters, who is ranked No. 3 in the nation individually and has compiled a dual match record of 10-2 this season.
Arizona senior Adnan Novo, who will be up against Wolters on the No. 1 court, said he is ready for a long match.
"I am not preparing any differently," Novo said. "(I'm) just realizing who my opponent is."
Stanford players K.J. Hippensteel, Geoff Abrams and Alex Kim join Wolters in the rankings at No. 15, No. 40 and No. 47, respectively.
The No. 31-ranked Golden Bears (6-4, 1-2) stop first at Arizona State before arriving in Tucson.
California, led by Adrian Barnes, recently lost to Fresno State.
