Senior Monique Allegre returns a ball during a match against UCLA. The women's team is on the road today facing Washington State and will play Oregon and Washington on the rest of its road trip this weekend.

The No. 45-ranked UA women's tennis team plays No. 40 Washington State today in Pullman, Wash., at 1:30 p.m. Tucson time. The showdown will be the start of a three match road trip for Arizona, which has only six matches left this season.

Arizona is on a seven-match losing streak entering Pullman, with a 4-10 season record and an 0-7 mark in the Pacific 10 Conference.

The Wildcats have a good chance to end that losing streak as they have never lost to the Cougars in the history of the women's tennis program.

But the Cougars won't be easily pushed aside, as they are led by Erica Perkins, ranked No. 38 individually by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Arizona then takes on the No. 31 Oregon Ducks (9-5) tomorrow in a match that will also be played in Pullman.

The Ducks' ranking is their highest in school history, despite the fact Oregon is coming off a 7-2 loss to Washington State.

Things don't get any easier for UA as the Wildcats are then off to Husky territory Saturday to face No. 22 Washington (10-4) in Seattle.

The Huskies are led by No. 13 Kristina Kraszcwski and No. 72 Zuzana Stunova.

Men's tennis team to play three matches

The UA men's tennis team hosts No. 41 UC-Irvine today at the Robson Tennis Center at 1:30 p.m. in a break from Pac-10 action.

No. 45 Arizona (6-8, 1-6) is coming off an upset of California last weekend at Robson, 4-3, the Wildcats' first win in Pac-10 play this season.

UCI is 13-1 on the season and is led by senior Thomas Bohun. The Anteaters played Arizona State in Tempe yesterday, but results were unavailable at press time.

The Wildcats will then resume Pac-10 play as they go up against Oregon tomorrow, also at 1:30 p.m. at Robson. The Ducks are currently ranked No. 59 with a season record of 7-9.

The Wildcats will then brawl with the Huskies Saturday at noon. Washington is currently ranked No. 15 with a season record of 14-5. The Huskies are 1-1 in Pac-10 play.

Arizona will then have only three remaining matches before the Pac-10 Championships start April 22.
