Get out and get moving. The UA Rugby Club will recruit new members on the UA Mall across from Gallagher Theatre today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Players and coaches alike will be present to answer any questions and give you the lowdown on this nationally recognized team. No experience is required to join this club sport, so there's no reason why you shouldn't give it your best shot. You may be surprised with your hidden talent.

Come hear about how the battle of the sexes wages on in the laboratory. The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology is presenting a seminar today in Biological Sciences West Room 237. Banu Subramanian, assistant research professor for the Southwest Institute for Research on Women, will speak about "The Making of Scientists: Gender and Graduate Education in the Sciences" at 4 p.m. Contact Tracy Futch at 621-3869 for details.

Stressed out? And it's only the third week of school! Ah, but relief awaits in the name of "Cultivating Inner Peace: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction." UMC is holding this introductory class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the UMC Health and Wellness Center. In the wake of Arizona's primary elections, Gallagher Theatre is set to keep your political interest strong with "Bulworth," a candid look at the fictional 1996 California primary elections. Warren Beatty plays a U.S. senator who, in desperation over America's corrupt political system, puts a hit out on his own life. In the few days before he is scheduled to get whacked, he falls in love with Halle Berry and learns some hefty lessons about race, class, campaign finance, the media and the power of money. Catch it at 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. for $2.50 (which is NOT big money).

The German Studies Department invites to you to attend its German Film Series. "Caspar David Friedrich," a film depicting the artist's paintings and landscapes that inspired them, will be showing at 7:30 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium, Room 350. Come hear (and see) the tale of a man denied a professorship in landscape painting at the Dresden Art Academy for having nonconformist opinions on art and politics. And don't worry about foreign exchange rates - it's free.

Head on over to the east side - of campus, that is. Flandrau Science Center is proud to kick off their fantastic weekend of star shows with "The Invisible Universe," a look at what the naked eye can't see in the sky. Learn about black holes, quasars, supernovae and our very own Milky Way via animation and dramatizations. The cost of admission is $5 for adults, $4 for kids 13 and younger, and $4.50 for students, senior citizens and the military. The fun starts at 7:30 p.m.- reserve your seat early.

It's '80s night at Club Congress, and boy, do they have a special treat for you! Gene Loves Jezebel rocks the house at 9:30 p.m., while Spyder Rhodes fills up the dead pre- and post-show air with your favorite decade-old tunes. The cover charge is $4 and there will be 80-cent drink specials till 1 a.m. All of this fabulousness requires valid ID that screams "I am 21," so don't "forget" your wallet at home.

The Charles Darwin Experience Comedy Improv performs tonight in the Memorial Student Union Cellar. Laugh your arse off at no charge. The show begins at 10 p.m. and ends when your facial muscles are frozen into a semi-permanent grin. The troupe puts on a fresh show every week, so have no fear of canned skits or stale humor.

Schwing!! Gallagher Theatre is letting you relive your favorite SNL sketch in one big flick tonight: "Wayne's World," a look at the world through hormonal male eyes (read: babes, guitars and street hockey), is playing at midnight tonight for pocket change - $2.50. This is a special engagement, so get in line early.
