UA adds national champion to schedule
The University of Arizona men's basketball team has announced that it will participate in the Sixth Annual Great Eight Basketball Classic in Chicago's United Center to be held Dec. 7-8.
The Wildcats will tip-off with the 1999 NCAA tournament champions, the University of Connecticut Huskies on Dec. 7 at 9:30 p.m.
The Great Eight will be televised on ESPN, which owns and manages the event with Raycom Sports.
The other three games in the Great Eight will see Michigan State play Kansas at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, Temple versus Gonzaga at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8, and Cincinnati versus North Carolina following that game.
