Columnist exaggerates overcrowding problems
To the editor,
I was wildly entertained by Amanda Feuerman's editorial in yesterday's Wildcat ("Freshmen, I'm glad I'm not you," Page 7A). It's nice to know that research and journalistic integrity are still not prerequisites for writing for the Daily Wildcat.
As one of the student workers for residence life this summer, I have been very involved with many of the aspects of the overcrowding situation this year. As someone, therefore, who actually knows somewhat what I'm talking about, I'd like to point out a couple things to Ms. Feuerman.
1. No one is living in the Plaza. No one has been scheduled to live there for over a week.
2. The Pima House on Greek Row is not the problem you make it out to be. The waiting list to get into that building filled up quickly, and everyone I know there, including myself, love both the building and the location. Everyone who is living there chose to be there.
I suggest that in the future, you begin your research by talking to someone, other than just watching bits of Channel 4's news coverage.
