To the editor,

UA Student Body President Tara Taylor slammed both the UA Nursing School and Dance department with her uninformed and narrow minded comment in the Sept. 22 edition of the Daily Wildcat.

President Taylor failed to grasp the spirit or even a working knowledge of feminism when she stated "I don't want to be a ballerina or a nurse, I want to be the first woman president."

Feminism transcends occupation, gender and age. Feminism is a belief in the power of women and gender equality.

President Taylor would be lucky to be one of the few ballerinas talented enough to make a living dancing or caring and intelligent enough to succeed as a nurse.

President Taylor owes the UA Nursing School and the Dance department an apology.

Last time I looked the UA Nursing program was ranked No. 6 in the NATION!
