Photo and caption insensitive

To the editor,

I was appalled at the photograph and caption that accompanied the Wildcat's coverage of the suicide of an elderly man on campus ("Man, 85, dies after three-story plunge" Wednesday, Oct. 21). The main text described the compassionate actions of a UA student, Nathaniel Morgan, who comforted the dying man.

Would that the Wildcat staff had shown the same sensitivity as Mr. Morgan by forgoing the gratuitous "after" photo and the crude reference to the deceased man's body fluids. That space on the front page could have been better employed to provide information about community mental health services.
