Tucson firefighters enter the unoccupied Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house at North Cherry Avenue and East First Street to make sure the arson-cause fire is out. Police are still waiting for fingerprints results to determine who set the blaze.

University police have yet to make any arrests in connection with a July 12 suspected arson at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house.

Police served the investigative lead in the case, Brian D. Ross, 21, of the 0-100 block of East Adams Street, with a warrant Sept. 29 to check his fingerprints.

"We are still waiting for lab results," Cmdr. Brian Seastone of the University of Arizona Police Department said yesterday.

Police were led to Ross because of an unrelated investigation involving former ATO member Christopher C. Eddy, 19. Officers found the front door of the fraternity in the home that Ross and Eddy shared.

University police are not sure if or when an arrest will be made, Seastone said. The case is still open and under investigation.

The three-alarm blaze caused an estimated $850,000 in damage.

Police suspect it was arson because the fire began in several areas simultaneously.
