UA rugby team opens its spring season

The Arizona rugby team (1-0) returns to action this weekend, taking on BYU today at 3:30 p.m. and Stanford tomorrow at 2:30 p.m., both at Estevan Park.
It will be Arizona's first game action since the Domino's Invitational Dec. 5-6.
Arizona is 6-9 all-time against BYU, which defeated the Wildcats 18-16 last year. Stanford is 3-1 against UA, with the last victory coming in 1996, 28-12.
Stanford has played in three of the last four rugby Final Fours.
The Wildcats begin league play Jan. 29 at Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo.
