12 UA athletes graduated in December

Twelve current and former UA athletes earned their degrees during Winter Commencement, including gymnastics star Heidi Hornbeek (physiological sciences), basketball coach-in-waiting Josh Pastner (family studies), former softball star Lety Pineda (Spanish), track and field Olympian thrower Chima Ugwu (sociology) and baseball starting left fielder Jason Hendricks (finance).
Hornbeek and Pastner, who graduated in just two and a half years, are still with their respective teams, while Hendricks is now playing in the Montreal Expos organization.
The other graduates were track and field's Dominic Johnson (anthropology), volleyball's Keisha Johnson (communication), swimmers Liesl Kolbisen (family studies) and Shannon Hosack (family studies), soccer player Melissa Kessler (marketing) and football players T.J. Rodriquez (Mexican-American studies) and Michael Wells (economics).
