Women swimmers sweep Texas meet
The No. 3-ranked UA women's swimming team posted three dual-meet wins while the No. 5 Wildcat men went 1-2 against Texas, Miami and Texas A&M in two days of competition in Austin, Texas.
The Arizona women had convincing wins over No. 10 Texas (218-172), No. 24 Texas A&M (278-107) and Miami (278-105). In their only win, the Wildcat men downed No. 23 Miami 239-99 but lost to No. 2 Texas (239-99) and Texas A&M (219-129). The UA women now boast an overall dual-meet record of 9-1, while the men fell to 3-6.
Leading the way for the Arizona men was junior Ryk Neethling. Neethling was victorious in the 200 free (1:37.16) and 1,650 free (15:04.9). His time in the 1,650 free was the only NCAA automatic qualifying time of the day.
