To the editor, I read your recent article on the WRC (SAS noble, but needs to grow up, 2/18). It was reassuring to read an article reflecting an appreciation of the complexities of the labor code issue. Collegiate institutions must work together as a group to influence the practices of licensed manufacturers. The licensees will have to buy into the ultimate code/monitoring system to accomplish real change. Right now, unfortunately, the USAS is causing divisiveness within and among collegiate institutions across the country, which may well derail the delicate process of reaching consensus.
