Laxcats take on San Diego and Ft. Lewis College
Not only will the Laxcats get to play in Arizona Stadium this weekend but the team will play in front of 20 of the players' parents for family weekend. "I think it is exciting and a tremendous opportunity," coach Mickey-Miles Felton said. "It will be fun because the scoreboard and the speakers will be on for the series." Junior mid-fielder Nate Schmidt said his family coming in from San Francisco, Calif. will inspire his play. "They will help me 'bear down' a little more and definitely pump me up to play better," Schmidt said. Tomorrow at 1 p.m., the No. 9 Laxcats (2-2, 2-0 conference), take on the No. 23 Ft. Lewis College Skyhawks (1-1). "Last season was a pretty rough game," mid-fielder Chris Mastores said of last season's loss to the Skyhawks. "We need to come out fired up." The Laxcats take on the University of San Diego (4-1, 4-1), Sunday at 1 p.m., in an important conference game with large playoff implications. "A win would make us 3-0 in the division with three-games left versus Arizona State, LMU and UCSD," Felton said. "It would let us continue to be in the driver's seat."
