UA rugby goes up against Long Beach State
The University of Arizona rugby team takes on Long Beach State in a home match this weekend. With a win, the Wildcats (5-3 overall and 4-1 conference) will move closer toward their second consecutive SoCal Conference Championship, which would earn the team an automatic bid into college rugby's national championships. "It will give us a win against everyone who we needed wins against," head coach Dave Sitton said. UCLA was also scheduled to play the rugby team this weekend but had to forfeit due to injuries. "Quite frankly, if we play hard we should take care of business," Sitton said. "It will be a good test for our defense." The match against Long Beach State will take place Sunday at noon. "We need to make sure we do not turn the ball over and retain possession," Sitton said. "We need to dominate each time we have possession."
