Cancellation not official until UA confirmation

Bush and Moby will not make it to the University of Arizona campus, a MTV publicist said last night.

The MTV "Campus Invasion Tour," scheduled for April 24 at McKale Center and featuring pop-stars Bush and Moby, has been canceled for unknown reasons.

"All I can say right now is that the Arizona portion of the tour has been canceled," said MTV's Lisa Williams. "We'll know more about this tomorrow."

Williams declined to comment on any relationship between the cancellation and Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale's collapse during an April 13 concert at Central Michigan University.

The show was sponsored by the University Activities Board's Rising Star Entertainment and KFMA radio.

Mark Randle, promotions director from KFMA, said no further information will be given until noon today.

"I cannot give any information because the U of A has not officially canceled the show," he said. "Even though I've talked to all the managers and label reps, we have to wait until the U of A announces it officially."

Despite this, all indications are that the show has been canceled.

"It is disappointing," said Rising Star Director Madaline Thompson. "All I can say is that more information will be given tomorrow at 12 o'clock."

Label representatives from both Bush and Moby were unavailable for comment.
