International espionage made specially for kids

By Hudson J. Genovese
Arizona Daily Wildcat,
September 23, 1999

How exactly does the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) keep such a close eye on the world while simultaneously entrapping its citizens within a number of complex conspiracies (um, hello... J.F.K.)?

By creating a Web page, of course! How better to keep tabs on all of the unsuspecting Americans scanning the Internet for porn?

The CIA has a homepage for all of its devious plots and manipulative schemes, but what does the CIA need with a site specifically designed for kids? Education or corruption - you be the judge. Go check out www.odci.gov/cia/ciakids/safe.html.

Here you will find a summary of the entire history of the CIA, its members - both past and present - co-conspirators and its mission statement.

You can test your knowledge of geography with the trivia quiz, or go check out the "World Factbook" and learn everything you'd ever need to know and a bag of chips about every country in the world.

For added fun, you might want to try the cryptic game of "Create Your Own Disguise," which requires the installation of Shockwave technology. Venture into the "Canine Corps" page and learn how the CIA extends its shady hands to reach even man's best friend in an attempt to edge closer to America's population.

All this and a sound file of a dog barking, just in case you've never heard one.

If you haven't checked this site out yet, give it a try - it's the scariest thing on the web.
