Arizona legislator living in the past
To the editor, I was amused by your Friday story about Rep. Jean McGrath's campaign to eliminate the "immoral" coed dormitories. Evidently the Y2K bug that causes computers to mistake the year 2000 for 1900 has mutated into a form which can now be transmitted to Arizona lawmakers like McGrath. Perhaps there is some truth to Rep. McGrath's claims that coed residence halls contribute to teenage pregnancy and general immorality. The shining example of the university's single-sex frat houses and sorority houses can serve as a model of virtue and purity for our misguided dorms to follow.
