Stanford blows out the Wildcats, then goes home and beats UCLA. ASU goes to Cal and loses. What happened to the elite teams in the Pac-10? Nonetheless, ASU defends its home and gives a little hope to an already lost season. Arizona State 34, UCLA 27 This game could very well be the one that Kansas State proves all its critics wrong. It is no joke that the Wildcats are ranked ahead of the UT and they will go into Austin and get their ćhooksä into the Horns early. Kansas State 27, Texas 23 The Trojans wonāt be able to slip into Beaver territory and score because they just donāt have the depth at the main position ÷ quarterback. Corvallis will celebrate in the Northwest as the Beavers tear down the goal posts in the Southwest. Oregon State 31, USC 29 As much as I would love to pick this game to be a tie, being an Indiana University fan and all, I canāt. With Tom Brady starting, the Boilermakers will be in it, but when Drew Henson steps onto the field, bye-bye Boilers as U-M rolls. Michigan 31, Purdue 21 Ohio State is a joke No. 12, they are a joke seven point favorite and they have a joke for a coach. But, Wisconsin was overrated to start the season, and they will continue to be overrated after slugging it out in a loss with the Buckeyes. Ohio State 28, Wisconsin 24

After disappointing starts, both teams are looking for a little Western redemption. Look for the Bruins, who are coming off an embarrassing loss to Stanford, to rise to the occasion as Ryan Kealyās knee falters helplessly. UCLA 24, Arizona State 10 The best name in college football, Longhornsā Major Applewhite, is also the most underrated quarterback in the country. Kansas State, last yearās pretender to the throne, will come back to earth this weekend in a big 12 blowout. Texas 35, Kansas State 21 The Trojans will be without QB Carson Palmer for the rest of the season ... big deal. Mike Van Raaphorst, who started as a freshman in 1997 will have no trouble hitting the wide open R. Jay Soward. Tailback U by 20. USC 34, Oregon State 14 The Boilermakers and quarterback Drew Brees shocked the world with a win over Notre Dame. As long as Tom Brady is the Wolverine quarterback, Michigan will be unable to outscore the high-flying ĪMakers.ā Purdue in a tight one. Purdue 30, Michigan 21 Not since the days of Gino Torretta has college football seen such a Heisman farce as Ron Dayne. For the second straight week, Wiscoās Neanderthal offense will face a real defense ... and fail. Ohio State 24, Wisconsin 7

Both teams are coming off of Pac-10 losses, but the Bruins are clearly the better team. ASUās defense has looked horrible this year, along with J.R. Redmond on offense. UCLA will have too much fire power, even without an injured Poli-Dixion. UCLA 45 ASU 28 A quality battle here, good defense (Wildcats) versus high powered offense (Longhorns). Look for Major Applewhite to have a big game and freshman Chris Simms to take some fourth-quarter snaps, as the Longhorns run away with this one. Texas 35 Kansas State 10 This game looks to be a battle to the finish as the Trojans look to wiggle their way into a tight OSU defense. R. Jay Soward will lead the way for USC as Dennis Erickson and the Beavers go home losers. USC 17 Oregon State 16 Get this straight pollsters around the country ÷ Purdue is a joke! They needed a 99-yard pass to beat lowly Northwestern and only beat Notre Dame because the Irish havenāt figured out the importance of clock management. Michigan 35, Purdue 10 Poor Ron Dayne, for the second straight week he has to play a real defense, and for the second week in a row he will get shut down. Ohio State will put 10 men in the box and exploit Wisconsinās inability to pass. Ohio State 24, Wisconsin 9

The Bruins and Devils will display their amazing defensive potential by amassing over 150 total points. In this quintessential West Coast Offense matchup, UCLAās defense will end up sucking just a bit more than ASUās. Arizona State 84, UCLA 75 Without Michael Bishop running the option for Kansas State, donāt expect the Wildcats to get near the red zone. K-State doesnāt have Martin Gramatica to boot those long field goals anymore, either. Texas 31, Kansas State 0 Dennis Ericksonās run will end this week. Carson Palmerās injury is a blessing to USC as backup QBs Mike Van Raaphorst and John Fox will re-emerge for the Trojans, passing far into a mediocre OSU defense. USC 35, Oregon State 17 All this ridiculous hype about Drew Brees and the Boilermakers will pass this week as Michigan will slaughter Purdue on the ground. A-Train will show the Boilers that they need to rejoin Indiana and Minnesota in the toilet-half of the Big Ten. Michigan 38, Purdue 5 Ron Dayne slowed down recently and Ohio State certainly isnāt the team to pick up his game against. Since we canāt rely on the Big Ten for a reasonable passing attack, expect OSUās Michael Wiley to lead the Buckeyes past Wisconsin. Ohio State 24, Wisconsin 10
