The University of Arizona is prepared to get you to stop smoking. The Arizona Program for Nicotine and Tobacco Research is beginning a new study attempting to help adults who wish to reduce their smoking. Looking for 140 volunteers, the program requires individuals to attend 10 sessions and use an inhaler for up to one year, then make follow-up visits three months later. Volunteers will be provided all of the materials as well as a physical exam at no charge. Travel expenses will also be covered. The catch: you must be ready to reduce your smoking habits. Call the program at 886-4964 if you are interested. The center is located just south of the University Medical Center on North Campbell Avenue.

The training takes place in the Northwest Neighborhood Center located at 2160 N. Sixth Ave., and your tickets will cost $20 at the door. Everyone is invited, so give Katie Rosenberg of the Brewster Center a call at 320-7556 if you are interested.
