Lackey, Bozeman suspended for game
UA women's basketball head coach Joan Bonvicini has suspended sophomore guard Tysell Bozeman and senior forward Angela Lackey from playing on Friday against Oklahoma in the Hawaiian Regent Classic for a "violation of team rules." Initially, Bonvicini said that the two players wouldn't even accompany the team to Hawaii, but would rejoin them for practice after the trip. "After having received additional details and having re-evaluated the situation, I will be allowing Tysell and Angela to travel to Hawaii with the team (this) week," Bonvicini said in an official statement released by the Arizona Sports Information Department on Friday. "However, both will be suspended for the first game against Oklahoma on Nov. 19." Bonvicini made the initial announcement after the Wildcats' loss to the New Zealand National Team last Thursday. Both Bozeman and Lackey were not in uniform for the game, instead they watched from the bench in street clothes. "Angie Lackey and Tysell Bozeman will not accompany us to Hawaii. They're being suspended for a violation of team rules, they will be back after that, but they will be in practice," she said Thursday before she had a chance to re-evaluate the situation. "We've had distractions this week, unfortunately it has affected what we do, so we need to get back on track. We need to get back to being focused and playing hard and being together." Bozeman and Lackey will return when the Wildcats face Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
