Truth about Mall preachers

Talk about this story

To the editor,

There was this life guard. She sat on this high tower overlooking a crowded beach. There were many people on the beach and many more swimming in the surf. She suddenly heard the distressed cry of a lone swimmer in trouble, she knew that she could help her, but there were so many people! She jumped off the tower and ran into the crashing waves.

She swam up to the first swimmer she could find. The person was upset that the lifeguard disturbed his peaceful swim. She then went to the next swimmer who violently shoved her away. Then finally, many swimmers later, she came to the one in trouble, the one who needed saving. Just as the exhausted swimmer started to sink, a hand stretched out and pulled her to safety.

That is what it is to be a Mall preacher. You may bother some people, offend those who think they don't need what you have. But to the one who needs help, and is sinking down, you are the saving hand of God.

People shouldn't judge God's love by the way it is sometimes misrepresented. His mercy and patience has changed my life forever.
