A 19-year-old student was arrested early Friday morning in his Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall room for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

An officer responding to an unrelated call at the hall arrested Henry King when he noticed a strong smell of burning marijuana coming from his third-floor room.

The officer said he could hear someone coughing in the room and could see through the window of the room a person cleaning out a pipe.

When King stuck his head out the window he saw the officer and admitted to smoking marijuana in his room. Upon investigation police found King had a outstanding warrant for his arrest on another charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

King was transported to Pima County Jail for processing.

A student reported a disorderly conduct incident that occurred outside the Slonaker House on Thursday.

The student told police she was pulling out of the Slonaker House parking lot, 1017 E. Second St., when she accidently cut off a man in a white pickup truck. She said the man began swearing and yelling at her. She stopped her car to apologize to the man but when she approached the vehicle the man continued yelling at her, she said.

The student wrote down the license plate number of the truck and told the driver she was going to report him to the police. She said when she began to drive away he followed her for a short distance but then left the area.

Police are attempting to contact the owner of the truck.
