UA swept in L.A.

The Arizona men's tennis team returned from Los Angeles after suffering its first two Pacific 10 Conference matches.

No. 25 Arizona was defeated by No. 8 Southern Cal 6-1, with Arizona's win coming from senior Chris Jenkins' 6-3, 6-3 defeat of Lucas Hovorka.

No. 2 UCLA topped UA 5-2 on Saturday.

Arizona's record now stands at 5-3 in dual match play, 0-2 in the Pac-10.

Against UCLA, Jenkins defeated Matt Breen 6-2, 7-6 to up his undefeated singles record to 7-0 in dual match play. Roland Kupka was responsible for the other victory with his 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Jason Thompson. Arizona takes on Texas-El Paso this Saturday at the Tucson Country Club (2950 N. Camino Principal) at 1 p.m.
