The Arizona women's lacrosse team gets to spend its first weekend at home this season after back-to-back trips to Santa Barbara, Calif., the past two weekends.

The Wildcats host Claremont Saturday at 2 p.m. and UCLA Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at Wildcat Field, which is on 15th St. between Tucson and Plumer.

Arizona is coming off two exhibition wins at the Santa Barbara Shoot-out, with a 6-5 victory over the same Bruins coming to town.

"If we play to our potential we'll beat them by a much larger margin than we have," junior attacker Erin Bradbury said.

Bradbury is a returning all-star and is second on the team with three goals scored so far.

"I think we're basically looking at it as every game is as important as the next," Bradbury said. "I think last weekend we didn't really show them (UCLA) everything we had in us."

Another key player is freshman goalie Kim McDonough, whom head coach Josh Dreiband said showed considerable improvement from UA's opening weekend to the exhibition tournament last weekend.

"She seems to be steadily improving, but she still has a long way to go," Dreiband said.

Dreiband said if the Wildcats play up to their potential, they should come away from the weekend with two wins.

"If we go out there and go 110 percent we should kill them," he said. "We should pretty much beat anybody."
