What are you doing between classes today? How 'bout a movie? The Motion Picture Association's Latin American Film Tour has made its debut at the UA, and will be presenting subtitled films from Brazil morning, noon and night. Preface your movie-going experience by attending the Press Conference scheduled for 10 a.m. this morning in Room 102 of the Center for English as a Second Language building. Representatives from all countries who have submitted films for this tour will be present. Then, at 3:30 p.m., grab a free seat in Gallagher Theatre for the showing of the first film, "O Pagador de Promessas." Stick around for "For All- O Trampolim da Vitoria," which plays at 5:30 p.m., or just come back at 8 p.m. to catch "Sertao das Memorias." The evening's film showcase will be capped by a presentation by Susana Schild at 10. The event is being sponsored by the Latin American Area Center, the College of Humanities, Media Arts, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Vice President for Human Resources. Max Tegmark, of the Institute for Advanced Study, wants to air "The Dirty Laundry of Cosmology: Galaxy Bias and Microwave Foregrounds" today at noon as part of the Theoretical Astrophysics Lunch Seminar series.
