Cure your midterm blues with today's "Midterm Blues Sale" at all UofA Bookstores. All items that are mostly blue, as determined by bookstore staff, will be sold to students at 20 percent of their regular sale price. As any student at a research university knows, the idea of getting your work published in a peer-reviewed journal is on your list of things to do. However, at today's 2 p.m. Systems and Industrial Engineering Seminar, representatives from the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center will explore the "COIN-OR Initiative: Open Source Software for the Operations Research Committee." The workshop will focus on teaching note-taking strategies to make the most out of your class time. History and art mix together at tonight's 7 p.m. American Indian Activist Painter Lecture in the Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering auditorium. This lecture, sponsored by the Women's Studies Advisory Council and the UA School of Art, will explore the ideas of race and gender in visual culture through, "The Democratization of Art." In continuation with the African American Student Affairs' celebration of Black History Month, a forum on identity and race will be presented in the Martin Luther King building, Room 209 at 5 p.m. This event is part of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee's Identity Panel Discussion Series. The piano keys will hit the high notes at tonight's 7:30 p.m. School of Music and Dance-John Nauman Piano Concert. This encore performance by the Julliard School graduate will be held at Crowder Hall, in the UA Fine Arts Complex, and tickets will be sold for $8 and $10. Tickets can be purchased through the Fine Arts box office at 621-1162.
