Come show off your batting skills. The Rec Center is holding a Homerun Derby starting this noon until 6 p.m. Here's your chance to show the UA community what you're made of. Join the good people at the Center for Creative Photography for more 25th anniversary celebration events. Curator of Exhibitions and Collections Trudy Wilner Stack will discuss the origins of the late 20th century embrace of photography as an art form and its unique and defining characteristics. Explore the many different options available in the field of visual arts. A panel of professionals will be on hand to offer career alternatives in visual arts. Come meet the director of exhibitions at the Tucson Children's Museum, a county illustrator and a Photoshop instructor amongst others at this visual arts career forum. They will be able to help you transform your passion in to a career and answer questions about potential careers. The Faculty Community Lecture Series will continue tonight with a lecture from Yetta Goodman, a regents professor of language. Goodman will discuss "Research in Reading" at the University Medical Center's DuVal Auditorium. The seminar starts at 7:30 p.m. Call 621-3513 and ask for Mary Cox. She'll be able to give you the low down on all the details.

Tommy Tucker's in town and he's playing in the Cellar. Take a break from class to listen to Tucker's guitar based tunes, as he plays at this week's Eat to the Beat concert. The Red Cross will be invading campus today to beg the student body for their blood. Stop by their bus on the UA Mall today to donate a little bit of life to those in need.
